Transport Decarbonisation
Transport Decarbonisation is a serious game where players are urban policymakers attempting to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Using limited resources, players must balance economic, social, and environmental outcomes by enacting real-world-inspired policies across the transport sector. Visual data feedback, evolving cityscapes, and milestone-based progression highlight the urgency and complexity of climate action.
Designed as both an educational and entertaining experience, the game has been tested in academic environments to evaluate its effectiveness in increasing awareness and understanding of sustainability challenges. Results show that visual feedback and interactivity enhance knowledge retention, while positive gameplay incentives boost engagement.
